Phebe has helped the business bring a complex regulatory investigation to a conclusion and is leading the legal response to a related class action. Alongside these high profile matters, Phebe has focused on transforming the way legal services are delivered across the Group. She has fostered a more strategic and coordinated approach to use of external counsel through launching dedicated contentious and non-contentious legal panels, and she has driven the deployment of a centralised litigation and disputes platform across the Group to improve visibility, consistency and management of all contentious matters.

A strong advocate for innovation, Phebe has fostered a culture in which her team is encouraged to embrace AI and technology to deliver legal and compliance support more effectively, including the development of an AI-enabled compliance chatbot. Her focus is on building a modern, commercially minded inhouse legal and compliance function that combines strong risk management with innovation and practical business partnership.
