Pinar Parlak-Koyuncu

Chief legal counsel | GE Healthcare Türkiye

Pinar’s experience spans across several sectors — materials, construction, tobacco and the automotive industry. In 2022 she started working in healthcare. Throughout her career, she assumed a relevant role in many global M&A. Pinar says that witnessing such significant M&A, including the sale of the Opel brand by General Motors to the French group PSA, and the merger of the latter with the FCA group, provided her with great professional gains that have benefitted her career. She states that as a member of global legal teams, she can observe different company cultures and working styles, developing the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions.

Pinar joined GE Healthcare at the end of 2022 — a leading global medical technology, pharmaceutical diagnostics, and digital solutions innovator dedicated to providing integrated solutions services and data analytics to make hospitals more efficient, clients more effective, therapies more precise, and patients healthier and happier.

On January 2023, GE Healthcare transitioned as a standalone, independent company after more than 130 years within the GE family. Pinar’s role is now involved in a global spinoff. Due to the complex and risky nature of the region, her responsibilities cover legal support for projects in Turkey, Iran and Central Asia. Pinar states: ‘Working in these areas helped me to understand cultural sensitivity better, show flexibility and adaptability, strengthen my skills on the masking decision in the face of ambiguity and uncertainty’.

She is passionate about helping people and the development of young talent. She often meets up with law students to share her experiences with them; she believes in mentoring them in their education and future career journey.
