Aygaz, the 10th largest industrial company in Turkey, performs all processes including sales and manufacturing of liquefied petroleum gas. Burcu Şener Sözer leads a team of five lawyers and one support staff, which supports both Aygaz and its subsidiaries, including Aygaz Doğal Gaz and Enerji Yatırımları. Having developed in-house software in collaboration with Aygaz’s IT department, the legal team has been able to organise, record and report on all work streams to efficiently handle a growing workload. The legal function has ensured the company’s adaptation to recent changes in the Turkish Code of Obligations and the Turkish Commercial Code, meaning a reassessment and redesign of a variety of business aspects, especially for Aygaz, with new Capital Markets Law and secondary legislation requirements.
