Faced with a number of challenging factors in the past two years, mainly driven by global trends in the solar industry, the legal team has managed to stay current and artfully support the business through these changes. One example is the antidumping procedure, where the legal team were instrumental in redesigning the company’s corporate structure, in cooperation with the finance and tax departments, in order to comply with new and stringent legal requirements. It was only through flexibility and rapid adaptation that the team were overcome this challenge so successfully. Another test was brought by the European Commission, focused on antidumping duties on crystalline solar modules produced in China, and the reduction of incentives for solar in all major European countries. ‘This has led to the need of rapidly adapting to fast changes and supporting the business with creative solutions, most times without having previous similar cases to use as a model’, said Peter Faisst, Head of legal Europe and Africa.
