Andreas Burki studied the law at the University of Basel and Neuchâtel and passed the bar exam in Switzerland/Canton of Basel-Landschaft in 1993. From 1995 to 1999, he was legal adviser at UBS. From 1999 he performed various roles within the legal tax and compliance department of Baloise in Switzerland. Since 2014, Andreas Burki has been the group general counsel of Baloise. Additionally, from 2005 to 2020 he was member of the legal and compliance commission of the Swiss Insurance association (Chairman since 2009). Since 2020 he is chairman of the board of directors of Baloise Belgium, Baloise Luxemburg and Baloise Germany.
