SICPA develops and distributes overt and covert high security ink for banknotes documents and brand protection, occupying a niche area in financial services. Yann-Karim Haenni joined SICPA in January 2010 as legal counsel, senior legal counsel and in January 2014 was promoted to general counsel, overseeing the Security Inks division of SICPA. Haenni was able to work on the launch of SPARK Live, a project that creates new dynamics of optical security, used in more than 40 countries for the protection of banknotes and ID documents. Haenni is considered a central part of the business’ aims in expanding from protecting most of the world’s currency to providing secured identification, traceability and authentication solutions and services.
