As the MEU vice president and chief counsel for consumer goods company, Mondelēz International, Xavier Schops, drives the legal and compliance functions for operations generating sales of €9bn. During his two years there he has helped develop product and sales channel innovation, marketing strategy and group data privacy initiatives. Schops uses his deep international dexterity to manage a team located in 20 countries, enabling an atmosphere of substantial business transformation in fast-changing jurisdictions. Prior to joining Mondelēz International he served as general counsel Europe, Middle East and Africa for PPG Industries and substantially redesigned and expanded the remit of the team on a global scale, creating a powerful compliance function and branched out to double the number of nationalities by creating a team in Russia and Poland.
