Philipp E. Probst encompasses over 14 years of legal consulting experience with a strong background in intellectual property law in the global market. Serving as the senior legal counsel at Swiss telecommunication providers, Sunrise Communications, Probst uses his knowledge of intellectual property, trademarks, copyrights, design and licensing and IT, e-Commerce and new media knowledge to navigate the daily matters that arise. Probst previously worked at UBS for a large part of his career, joining as legal counsel responsible for counselling the bank’s IT, e-Commerce and operational risks units. He went on to serve as the senior legal counsel at UBS, within the group intellectual property division, where amongst his many tasks, he assisted in the establishment of a global group IP unit, as well as managing the bank’s trademark, copyright and design portfolio in over 50 countries. He then moved to the legal and compliance division of the bank with a focus on IT, contracting and shared services legal, where he continued working as IP counsel with additional responsibilities, including designing and developing the first group-wide social media policy and preparing and giving training sessions to internal clients and to peers outside the bank.
