As the director of legal affairs and sustainability of the company, Robert Hård is responsible for all legal issues for car service business Mekonomen Group, which is made up of the Mekonomen, MECA and Sørensen og Balchen brands. Mekonomen Group operates in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland in the automotive industry, specifically the sale of car parts, accessories to cars, garage equipment, tools and education to car garages. Hård covers all issues related to all applicable legal affairs, HR and environmental regulations and is a member of the company’s management team. Beginning his role at Mekonomen Group in December 2013, Hård has overseen the expansion of the business from a legal and sustainability perspective during this time. Most recently, in July 2018 Mekonomen signed an agreement to acquire automotive spare-parts distributor FTZ in Denmark, and Inter-Team in Poland from HELLA for €395m, breaking into these markets for the first time. It is an important acquisition for the Group and a major victory for the firm in its business agenda, as well as a testament to the ability of the company’s ambitions in new markets to be achieved.
