Since 2012, Annika Bäremo has served as senior vice president and head of group legal affairs, general counsel and secretary of the board of directors at Saab. As general counsel Bäremo is responsible for the legal affairs of Saab’s international global operations in the aerospace and transport industry including the recent comprehensive mid-life upgrade of HSwMS Gotland which, it was announced in mid-2018, is ready to start her sea trials. After leaving the automobile industry, Saab has refocused and excelled in its historically successful aeroplane and maritime engine and design business as well as other machinery. Bäremo leads the legal team with the experience needed in such a high profile, heavily regulated and iconic Swedish industry. Prior to Saab, she had been senior legal advisor of materials technology at Sandvik since 2000, after a career in private practice at Nordia and Michelson & Warner, and was also the associate judge of appeal at Svea Court.
