A major player in the financing market, Finansia Multi Finance maintains a relatively lean legal department of four individuals to safeguard the fortunes of its 10,000 employees. However, as head of risk, compliance and legal Antonius Adhitama explains, the team is well able to handle the myriad issues that face them and boasts a record of consistent success: ‘The legal department successfully manages the diversified legal issues and matters – including corporate matters, M&A, commercial agreements and licenses – through its internal resources and productive relationships with outside legal counsel to cost-effectively and efficiently manage the company’s business goals’. Adhitama, a highly regarded legal professional with 15 years’ experience, is joined by corporate legal manager Fransisca Elizabeth, legal assistant manager Ulima Agissa and legal officer Diana Theresia. Given the relatively compact nature of the team in relation to the size of the company, all team members are highly capable and extremely dedicated to the company’s cause, allowing the team to consistently go above and beyond in support of Finansia Multi Finance’s goals. Adhitama outlines a couple of these: ‘In 2017, we successfully assisted the company in obtaining financing facility to the amount of Rp3tn (equivalent to U$221m) from a public listed bank in Indonesia. The legal department also assisted the company in issuing medium terms notes up to RP800bn (equivalent to US$59m) in two tranches, with the first tranche occurring at the end of 2017 and the second tranche in the beginning of 2018’.
