Bridgestone Asia Pacific, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the world’s largest tyre and rubber company Bridgestone Corporation, is based in Singapore as the regional headquarters and strategic business unit of the Bridgestone Group in China and the wider Asia Pacific region. Overseeing the legal affairs for the company’s 12 sales and manufacturing companies and 13 tyre manufacturing plants whilst supplying its products to more than 25 countries in the region, Bridgestone’s Asia Pacific legal team plays a key role in facilitating this large and growing market that contributes significantly to the entire Bridgestone Group. Vice president (general counsel) Sham Sabnani joined in January 2018 after ten successful years as the executive counsel for GE Aviation in Asia. Immediately prior to Sabnani’s arrival, the legal team helped Bridgestone Asia Pacific establish Bridgestone Mining Solutions Indonesia, which will function as a regional company and supply mining, construction and civil engineering field customers with custom mining solutions. With Sabnani now at the helm of the legal function, Bridgestone Asia Pacific is set to continue benefitting from its expert legal team.
