Focus on: The career of Tricia Feng

Tricia moved into in-house legal work two decades ago and has not looked back since. Attracted by its aggressive growth strategy, Tricia took up the role of Asia Chief Counsel for Manulife Investment Management with primary responsibility for its Asia legal team which focusses on providing timely commercially focused legal advice across Asia including dealing with complex cross-border transactions.

“I joined Manulife in January 2021, which was the peak of the Covid pandemic” she mused. “Without the ability to travel and meet stakeholders and the legal team across Asia, the truly collaborative culture of Manulife has been key to my quick and smooth assimilation into the Manulife family.”

Manulife has been pushing hard to digitise its business and to transform itself to be more what the customer of today expects and likes. Tricia chairs the legal committee of the Investment Management Association of Singapore and works together with like-minded senior asset management lawyers to similarly explore how digitisation can drive game-changing improvements in legal and regulatory form filing for asset managers in Singapore.
