Jo-Ann David serves as the chief legal counsel of Mondelēz International’s Sub-Saharan African business. Mondelēz International is a multinational confectionery, food, and beverage company with a presence in over 150 countries worldwide. Some of its rich heritage global and local brands include Cadbury Dairy Milk, Oreo, Toblerone, Bournvita, and Lunch Bar.

Jo-Ann’s primary focus is managing legal matters of strategic commercial, compliance, and regulatory importance. She leads a team of experienced legal professionals in South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya. Jo-Ann also sits on the Sub-Saharan African Leadership Team, where she supports the business unit in navigating its complex cross-border manufacturing, sales, and distribution operations in line with its growth objectives.

Furthermore, Jo-Ann is an advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, leading the Mondelēz AMEA Legal function’s mentoring program. Before joining Mondelēz, Jo-Ann held various corporate counsel roles at Anheuser-Busch InBev and Sasol. She also spent several years in private practice before transitioning to an in-house legal career. Jo-Ann holds a Master’s in Commercial Law from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
