What differentiates your Mexico-facing practice from those of your US competitors and peers?

Partners are heavily involved in the matters; we do not sacrifice quality for cost.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of advising Mexico-based clients from an office in the United States?

There are no substantive advantages or disadvantages with respect to advising given current technology; a presence in-country is more of a marketing play.

What influence will legal technology have on US/Mexico working practices in the future?

We are already seeing the impact of technology: less travel for transactions, compressed timetables, more efficient due diligence process.

What is your perception of in-house counsel’s priorities in terms of client service when working with US-based law firms?

For small to mid-size deals, in-house counsels may sacrifice quality of service to reduce costs. For larger deals, in-house counsel will go to quality. In all cases, responsiveness is key.
