Career Biography

Lia Castro e Costa is Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance at Worten, and a member of the leadership team of one of the leading technology retailers in Europe.

A qualified lawyer with nearly 20 years of experience, she began her career in private practice at a Porto-based law firm before joining the Sonae Group in 2015. She transitioned to an in-house role, where she progressively assumed broader responsibilities, from legal counsel to team coordination, and, in the past two years, to leading the Legal, Risk and Compliance Team across the Worten Group.

She currently oversees a multi-jurisdictional scope covering Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Malta and France, advising on legal, regulatory and governance matters in a complex, consumer-facing business.

With pragmatic and results-driven approach, she combines strong technical expertise with strategic vision and a distinctive ability to manage and prioritise risk in fast-paced environments. Her leadership has been instrumental in strengthening a culture of compliance and supporting the company’s sustained growth.
