What piece of work or project over the past year are you most proud of, and why was it particularly significant for the business? 

In recent years, the group’s strategy has focused on expanding beyond national borders. I have had the good fortune and honor of being involved in several internationalization projects from the very outset, which has proved to be a challenge but also a very gratifying experience. 

As projects of this nature and dimension involve jurisdictions one is not as familiar with, different languages, multidisciplinary teams, amongst other factors, the challenge is proportionately demanding and, for that reason, rewarding when the set goals are achieved or, better still, exceeded. 

What skills or experiences have been most important in your development as an in‑house lawyer so far?

My professional development has been, and continues to be, greatly supported on diversity: diversity of professional experiences, of areas of activity, and above all, of people. I am immensely fortunate and honored to work, and to have worked, with outstanding professionals in various areas of law and beyond, who give and have given me the opportunity to learn from them, and also give and have given me the freedom and space to grow  – something I value greatly and which I am absolutely certain has enriched my career in multiple ways. 

Naturally, the key skill for embracing this diversity of experiences has been the ability to adapt, but also curiosity, the active pursuit of knowledge, and seeking support and help whenever I need it, with issues or topics with which I am not so familiar. 

Who or what has most influenced your professional development, and how do you continue to build your skills and knowledge?

People have always been my greatest influence and source of motivation. As above mentioned, I have been, and continue to be, incredibly fortunate to be part of teams made up of truly admirable people, who inspire and motivate me to be a better professional and to give my very best. Furthermore, my daily motivation is fuelled by curiosity and willingness to take action.
