The Delosi legal team is responsible for supporting the well-recognised food chain brands it oversees, such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Chili’s and Starbucks. Made up of two lawyers and one trainee, the legal team provides advice related to corporate, civil, contractual, franchise, consumer protection, and general administrative law. The team is led by legal manager Pamela Marqués Reátegui, and second in line is the legal coordinator who is in charge of issues related to consumer protection and competition, personal data law and training other areas of the business on legal matters. The legal team also has a legal analyst who deals with issues regarding public affairs with municipalities, contracts and corporate matters. ‘We have had to develop efficiencies within our resources and procedures such that the other areas that have been trained [can] identify and [are] empowered to resolve standardised legal issues independently’, says Marqués. The legal team has recently been working on the merger of an affiliated company, providing legal support regarding the integration of procedures, authorisations, permits and contracts. ‘Our ethos is efficient team work with our internal clients. We have come to realise that a deep understanding and empathy with the operations of the other areas in the company has allowed us to provide swift and efficient solutions to satisfy their needs’, adds Marqués.
