What has been the number one challenge that has impacted you over the past year?

The main challenge has been to “return to normality” after the unfortunate global pandemic caused by Covid-19. Many people with whom we work or with whom we interact with to carry out our work have suffered unfortunate losses of family members and loved ones, in addition to the psychological damage that we have all suffered, to a greater or lesser extent, because of the pandemic. This is why we must all work and support each other to move forward and leave the pandemic behind us as a bad memory, without forgetting about it, because despite everything, it taught us important life lessons.

Looking forward, what technological advancements do you feel will impact the role of in-house legal teams in the future the most?

Artificial intelligence is undoubtedly the most important of the technological advancements, since it, like many other technologies, will unfortunately be used incorrectly and unethically. This is without prejudice to the fact that this technology will be of great help if we use it ethically and responsibly.

What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?

Helping others, because there is no point in making big profits if we do not share them with those who really need them. Additionally, I believe that one of the best ways to contribute to society is through education, since education is the key to a better society.
