Rodrigo brings nearly twenty years of experience within Paraguay’s justice system, with a career spanning both the public and private sectors. His professional journey began in the public sphere, where he served as adviser to Justices of the Supreme Court of Paraguay. In this capacity, he contributed to numerous high-profile and complex civil, commercial, and constitutional cases. His work was marked by analytical precision, strategic insight, and the ability to navigate sensitive legal challenges.
Following his tenure in the judiciary, Rodrigo transitioned to the private sector, joining BKM|Berkemeyer, one of Paraguay’s most prestigious law firms. As a Senior Associate, he advised national and international clients on the development of their businesses and investments in the country. His practice encompassed the structuring of commercial transactions, contract negotiation, and corporate law matters.
He currently serves as Senior In-House Counsel at Rocktree, a multinational shipping company with a leading role in logistics services along the Paraguay–Paraná Waterway. In this role, he provides strategic legal guidance on commercial operations, corporate governance, and cross-border transactions, supporting Rocktree’s growth and safeguarding its interests in a highly competitive industry.
In the academic field, Rodrigo obtained his law degree from the Catholic University of Asunción, where he later returned as a professor. He has completed numerous specialisation courses and graduated with honours from the LLM programme at Queen Mary, University of London. His studies in London were made possible through the prestigious “Carlos Antonio López” scholarship.
As a faculty member at the Catholic University of Asunción, Rodrigo has taught Alternative Dispute Resolution for several years, sharing his expertise with future generations of lawyers. He also serves as an advisory member of the university’s Law Review, where he previously held the position of Director, contributing to the development of academic discourse within Paraguay’s legal community.
Rodrigo’s international exposure further enriches his professional profile. He has participated in programmes abroad, including an internship in the United States with placements in Minneapolis and Washington, D.C., sponsored by the US Government.
