Head of legal compliance Khaled Chahine came in for particular praise from nominators. He mentions that his work is closely in coordination with the legal function, and lays out his duties as follows: ‘My major role is to ensure the bank is properly implementing and fully abiding by the regulations and laws in relation to banking subjects, taxation subjects (FATCA & CRS), anti-money laundering subjects, data protection subjects (for instance GDPR) and other similar matters’.
