Formed in 2009 as a joint venture between Gulf Capital and Related Companies, leading regional real estate development company Gulf Related has been behind some of the most eye-catching real estate work in the region. Concentrated around the Al Maryah Island development in Abu Dhabi, Gulf Related’s projects have helped transform the landscape and add glamour to the region. A small but highly respected legal team, led by experienced real estate lawyer, managing director commercial and general counsel Daniel Parry, is responsible for conducting negotiations on acquisition and joint venture agreements, establishing and managing real estate funds, implementing debt and equity structures, and leading day-to-day project operations. Since approval was granted in 2015, it has been engaged in work related to the $1.5bn retail component of Al Maryah Central development, the first phase of which will see US retailers Macy’s and Bloomingdales establish significant premises on the site.
