The changes made have been primarily aimed at improving processes company-wide, and included the legal team deepening their involvement with compliance and governance issues, among other areas. The restructure has also encouraged an increase in the visibility and accountability of other business units, improving the business alignment in the process. In another internal advancement, the legal team has introduced a new contract management system, allowing the team to save precious working hours to focus on a more customer-centric approach and produce bottom-line savings for the business. Throughout all this, ethics and compliance matters have been at the core of all the work the legal team has done, in response to the need to keep up with related regulatory frameworks and company values. Given that Aggreko operates in an industry that requires constant innovation, a ‘dynamic and flexible’ attitude is adopted by the legal team to help them operate as efficiently as possible. Responsible for providing temporary power and temperature control solutions, Aggreko has been involved in some enviable contracts globally, including providing power for the London Olympics. In the Middle East, the company has recently been supporting the city of Zahle in Lebanon, as part of a major deal to provide 45 megawatts of power in the city over a two year period. This period has seen the economy of Zahle improve markedly, showing that the work Aggreko does can often make a huge impact on the areas in which it operates.
