An expert in-house lawyer within the media sector, Gordon Finlayson has provided his significant talents to such prominent broadcasters as Showtime and HBO, the latter of which he operated as European general counsel. He moved to Zee Entertainment in Dubai in 2017 as international general counsel and was involved in the launch of the company’s ZEE5 digital platform while there: ‘it the fastest growing over-the-top platform in the world, growing to 50 million monthly users in the space of only one year. Launching ZEE5 was a huge challenge which required a large volume of legal support, including a global review of data protection, regulatory and consumer laws. The success of the platform outstripped all expectations’. He began his new role with twofour54 in April 2019 and looks set to continue his excellent record of success in pushing his companies forward. ‘I’ve joined an organisation with an impressive history of building the media industry in Abu Dhabi and with a very talented management team.
