Formerly a successful private practice lawyer, including periods as an associate for Simmons & Simmons and Jones Day, David Weir moved to his first in-house role with Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in Dubai at the start of 2015 and, after impressing as a senior legal counsel, became global head of legal a mere year later. In November 2018, Weir took on a new challenge as Jumeirah Group’s general counsel and looks to leverage his vast experience in the hospitality sector to help to take the major Dubai hotel operator to new heights.
