Senior corporate counsel Fernanda Ramo is the leader of the Amazon Mexico in-house legal team, which has four other attorneys supporting specific business units, divided according to each attorney’s specific expertise and coverage area. These units are retail and marketplace; transportation; compliance and fulfilment centre operations; and advertising, payments, customer service and fraud. The team also includes two compliance specialists to support Amazon’s restricted products program that removes problematic products from the Amazon site. The team is highly adept at legal aspects pertaining to the expansion of the online retail, content and services industry incorporating all of Amazon’s diverse business lines in the Mexican jurisdiction. The team’s recent growth has added to its strength and has developed its commercial and compliance acumen.
