The Pfizer México legal team is led by legal affairs director, Maurin Pérez de León, who boasts 20 years of experience as an in-house counsel for a number of large pharmaceutical corporate operations across Mexico. Pfizer is currently the leading biopharmaceutical company in Mexico and with the support of the legal team, the company has gone on to expand exponentially, offering a more diversified portfolio of products than ever before. It is to this end that the team has been integral to a number of trademark and intellectual property related projects, continually strengthening the company’s presence in the market. Working in such a highly regulated industry has required a great deal of adaptability on behalf of the team in the sometimes turbulent political environment. This has resulted in the successful implementation of an anti-corruption program and relevant competition law enforcement. In collaborating with governments and local communities, the team has been at the forefront of regulatory affairs and contract negotiation to ensure the smooth facilitation of all mergers and acquisitions.
