Tom is Vice President, Privacy and Regulatory at Syniverse, a US headquartered enabler of telecommunications – the ‘world’s most connected company®’ a business that seamlessly connects the world’s telecommunications networks, devices, and people to unlock the full power of communications.
Based at Syniverse’s international office in Contern, Luxemburg, Tom leads Syniverse’s global compliance efforts in the areas of privacy, AI governance, telecommunication regulation, anti-bribery, trade sanction and corporate governance. He serves as the Syniverse Gobal Data Protection Officer and leads the Syniverse privacy and AI governance and compliance programs. Tom also provides support on the privacy and regulatory aspects of commercial contracts, supports international M&A efforts as needed and acts as board representative of the Syniverse international legal entities.
Tom started his legal career at Norton Rose Fullbright in London and Singapore before moving into industry working in the aerospace, telecommunications and healthcare sectors, moving to Luxembourg in 2010 to work for Covidien, now part of US medical devices company Medtronic. He holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management, a diploma in EU Competition Law from King’s College, London, is an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPM, CIPP/ Europe) and recently completed the Oxford LawTech Education Programme (OLTEP) AI University Foundations course.
