Career Biography
Marjolijne Droogleever Fortuyn graduated in law from the University of Utrecht.
She obtained a postgraduate degree in law from the University of Cambridge (UK) and more recently successfully completed the International Directors Program at INSEAD.
Marjolijne worked as an attorney in The Hague (NL) and Brussels (BE), specialising in corporate, banking and EU law, before she came to Luxembourg where she has been working in the financial sector since 1992.
Amongst others, she was head of legal and human resources of ABN AMRO Bank Luxembourg.
As from 1 November 2019, she has been head of legal affairs of BNP Paribas, Luxembourg branch, specialising in asset and fund services for institutional investors and corporates, fund managers, pension funds and insurance companies. She leads a team of twelve lawyers.
Marjolijne has served on the board of the Luxembourg Institute of Governance (ILA) from 2017 to 2026.
