Petrovalves is a leading valves manufacturing company established in 1964 and although it is more than 60 years old, the legal department was only formed in 2016, following a change of management in the company. Ever since, the legal team have increased legal awareness within the group and assisted Petrovalves’ expansion in new markets such as Kazakhstan, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, China and the UAE. Head of legal and compliance – company secretary Fabiana Muzii leads the legal team to support the company and its 12 subsidiaries worldwide with reference to all legal matters such as secretarial activities, M&A activity, compliance and commercial contracts negotiations. The team has specific members dedicated to various legal areas, with one person responsible for all secretarial activities and compliance matters in all different jurisdictions where there’s an office, and another responsible for the review and negotiation of all contracts with clients and suppliers. In the last two years the team has worked on joint ventures with local partners in the Republic of Kazakhstan and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to increase the company’s local footprint.
