Hilti Italia is dedicated to designing and manufacturing of cutting-edge technologies, products and services to support professionals in the construction world. The legal department of Hilti Italia is made up of 13 members including four lawyers, three labour law members, four health and safety and environment engineers and one assistant. It is also comprised of a legal and compliance manager, Fabio Fiumanò, and legal director and regional compliance officer Sara Briuglio. Together the team supports not only the Italian entity, but also the other companies belonging to the E4 region, which includes the ten countries of Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Israel, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania and Bosnia. In the last two years the legal team has worked on refining its contractual negotiation skills by creating a health, safety and environment structured area. ‘We started working on public tenders and with the labour team and HR we worked on smartworking and welfare programmes. We did a lot of initiatives on compliance side with training and e-learnings, applications of new tools to track different cases’, says Briuglio. The legal team has an ultimate aim to enable new business and simultaneously avoid risks. ‘We are always involved by our colleagues locally, but also by our colleagues of the headquarters. We try always to find a solution to the problems or the initiatives of the company in order to avoid any and all possible risks’, says Briuglio.
