The legal team at Nestlé Group Italy and Malta is overseen by general counsel Daniele Guarnieri, who joined in 2016 bringing over nine years of experience as legal affairs manager at branded chocolate and confectionery products maker Ferrero. Nominators said the wider legal team at Nestlé Italy and Malta had been outstanding in recent months, helping to oversee a number of challenging transactional matters at the Italian arm of the world’s largest food company. Earlier this year Nestlé Italy sold a number of brands, including La Valle degli Orti, Mare Fresco and Surgela, to Germany-based frozen food group Frosta. This followed its 2016 sale of six confectionary brands, including Rossana, to Italian sweet company Fida. For its work on these and other matters, the legal team at Nestlé Group Italy and Malta is recognised in the GC Powerlist.
