Italian manufacturer of luxury supercars, sports cars and SUVs, Lamborghini has over 1,146 employees and is owned by the Volkswagen Group through its Audi subsidiary. Established in 1963, Lamborghini has become a staple part of Italian automobile culture and was initially created to directly compete with automobile giant Ferrari, and today the manufacturer is a visionary with a legal team to match. Over the last two years the team has faced the incredible growth of the company which has been a challenging experience in legal terms, this growth is set to increase further due to the volume of cars sold. Desiring to be more integrated within the business, the team plans to introduce a new workflow in terms of product safety where no decision will be taken without the involvement of legal. The Lamborghini legal team is led by Maria Francesca who is assisted by competent senior lawyer Laura Altieri, trainee Giulio Bai and consultant Elisa Romana. Francesca explains: ‘We are trying to be problem solvers instead of job stoppers trying always to find suitable solutions that could support the business and in the meanwhile being compliant with the laws and our internal rules. For sure, in case of disputes, our roles in settlement is quite important. We have daily contact with all departments in order to properly understand their needs’. With aims to become closer to the business, the team has become a solid part of the project management team and always stay abreast and up-to-date with critical training and whatever elements impact them as the business evolves.
