Marcella Zacchei assumed her role as general counsel of Ariston Thermo Group in 2006, having previously been a legal manager assisting a previous tax and legal manager. She has led the legal team through numerous M&A transactions including with NTY in Canada, HTP in the US, ATMOR in Israel, SPM in France, ATAG in the Netherlands, and others. Zacchei is responsible for the corporate governance and compliance of the whole Group, and led the team on an IP contractual litigation matter. In 2017 she oversaw the sale of a group of renewable energy companies with the core business located in the property of Ariston’s parent company. On this experience, she identifies that it was a major moment in her career highlighting that she, ‘built on an international expertise in leading senior foreign lawyers throughout [the] transactions’. Under Zacchei’s guidance, the Group has been able to undertake and complete very important compliance projects which have changed the organisation of the company and the group. These include initiatives such as GDPR compliance, a trade compliance program, an anti-money laundering, a 231 decree program, and an anti-trust program. Showing her commitment to modernity and embracing technology, she has also initiated digital innovations within the team, such as a share point archive with digital authorisation for contracts on a worldwide basis.
