Fabrizio Minneci is Ferrero Group’s chief legal officer, and has an additional position at the global confectionary manufacturer as a member of its board of directors. Minneci joined the Ferrero Group 11 years ago, having obtained 13 years of in-house experience at Ford Motor Company where he was director of legal affairs for its European marketing, sales and service division. Ferrero’s legal department – which is based at the Group’s headquarters in Luxembourg – is made up of 115 lawyers, paralegals and assistants representing 20 nationalities. Minneci’s remit is aimed at providing legal support to the company’s most important geographies, while at the same time dispensing specialist legal advice on specific areas of competence such as food law, IP and other relevant sectors. He is also responsible for corporate governance and legal compliance as well as the department’s gradual expansion into new regions and areas of competence. This is as well as supporting a number of Ferrero’s recent acquisitions. Minneci’s leadership is crucial within the department, which is functionally integrated through structures, processes and tools aimed at avoiding duplication of work and at offering one-stop-shop legal support to business partners. He ensures the team is closely associated with the business through representation on various business boards up to and including the executive committee, and uses his nous and experience regarding Ferrero Group’s operations to provide outstanding legal support worldwide.
