The Irish arm of accountancy firm EY are guided through legal and risk issues by a team led by general counsel and risk management leader Suzanne Tucker, who has held her position for over 13 years and presides over a team of experienced, commercially-minded professionals. The Dublin-based team has a large mandate consistent with the broad scope of services EY offers to its clients, which in Ireland includes the provision of assurance, tax, audit, transaction and advisory services across all industry sectors. Despite a time of relative economic misery in Ireland, EY have been able to celebrate excellent results, having grown its business in Ireland by 16% every year over the past three years, and has seen its workforce increase by a quarter since 2014. In early 2016 it was announced that EY are to create a further 270 jobs across Ireland in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Galway. The company states that such growth is being fuelled by high demand for services such as cyber security and fraud investigation, meaning the legal team’s responsibilities have potential to be expanded and boosted by more recruits in the coming months.
