Larsen & Toubo (L&T) is an Indian multi-national conglomerate earning global annual revenues of around $17bn and with business interests in engineering, construction, manufacturing goods, information technology and financial services. The team is led by legal veteran of three decades, general counsel, Hemant Kumar who joined L&T in 2016 after serving as group general counsel at Essar Group. Hired to streamline the legal processes, under his management the team has effectively enabled a number of lucrative and advantageous transactions. L&T’s water and effluent treatment business recently won an order worth Rs 1, 547 crores while the transmission and distribution business has achieved orders worth Rs 623 crores in domestic and international markets. The team contribute by overseeing big-ticket litigation and arbitration and also advise the group companies on strategic matters, as well as expansive acquisitions.
