The team at the core of Lanco Group’s solar and EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) businesses is headed by Parvesh Kheterpal, a seasoned power and infrastructure counsel with an expertise of 17 years of serving the market leaders. Joining the company in 2010, Kheterpal set up a function that initially provided legal support only to the solar business of the group across Europe, the United States, Singapore and South Africa, leading the way with his work on vital joint venture transactions, as well as EPC contract negotiations for the Asia’s largest solar power project in India. Two years ago, Kheterpal expanded his portfolio to cover Lanco’s EPC vertical, establishing a highly qualified team to provide support to all legal and compliance issues in a timely manner. Comprised of seven employees, the team has since dealt with a number of high-stakes litigations, winning several awards in recognition of its recent achievements. According to an industry source, the legal department is recognised as a ‘business enabler and solution provider’, rather than being treated as a ‘cost centre’.
