What is the biggest risk facing your industry now and how are you preparing your organisation to deal with this?

I am preparing my organisation to deal with every risk by making the in-house legal team industry expert. For this, we have started concept of business partnering of in-house legal team with business verticals. This will develop business perspective in legal team members, to handle not just business risk mitigation but calculated risk taking advisory to business teams.

What are some of the most significant cases or transactions you have worked on recently?

During 2020 -21, Covid had a significant role in terms of big disruptions to our work. Nevertheless, we managed to finish two big tickets infra-related arbitrations against public sector undertakings. One resulted in a favourable award of around USD$ 15 m, and the other is still pending. Additionally, we have handled London seated multiple but inter-related marine arbitrations under LMAA Rules.

What is a cause, business or otherwise, you are passionate about and why?

To mentor young law graduates for corporate leadership role in industry. Other passion is to get involved in public policy administration for betterment of Indian society.
