Wamos is the name and brand of the tourism group that brings together large companies in the sector, with extensive experience in their area of activity and a joint vision of growth and commitment to the future in Spain and Portugal. Consisting of five lawyers and three support staff, the legal team provides tax and legal services to all companies in the Group. The team is functionally divided in three areas: Firstly, tax, where Javier López is the tax senior manager of a team that is specialised in international taxation, M&A, tax proceedings, real estate and local taxation. Secondly, the legal corporate area, where Víctor Blanco acts as senior manager providing legal advice in commercial contracts, aviation, company law, insurance, litigation, labour, data protection, intellectual property, and public law among others. And thirdly, the final customers area, where Juan Marcos Pérez is the senior manager with extensive expertise in not only customer protection law and claims, but also real estate and consumer guarantees. The legal department is headed by Arturo Esteban Morales, an experienced lawyer who has been overseeing legal support for Wamos Group for nearly nine years, impressing with his ability to resolve important disputes and controversies in the process. The legal department is involved in all legal and tax transactions of the Group and recent significant cases include the acquisition of new companies, the management of public contracts, lease agreements or purchases of new aircraft and engines, important legal procedures regarding real estate, customer law or commercial law, as well as audit and tax inspections. According to legal and tax director Morales, the team culture is to provide high-quality services with effort, dedication, and innovation: ‘We attach great importance to all professional cases that we are involved in, performing comprehensive analysis of the law in order to provide high-quality services to our company. This does not detract from the fact that at the present we need to be innovative, providing solutions according to the technological development and current needs. Succeeding in reconciling personal and family life with work is also one of the aims for our department’.
