Banco Comercial Português, Portugal’s largest banking group, operates under the Milleniumbcp banking brand and possesses a highly talented in-house legal team providing support and coverage on international and domestic banking operations. The banking group provides services in Portugal as well as in international markets including Poland, Switzerland, Mozambique, Angola (through an associate bank BMA), and China with a focus on its recently expanded Macao presence. The team has worked on some of the Bank’s major achievements in the last year including the agreement with Alipay, a derivative of Alibaba, to bring the Chinese technology giant’s digital payment system to Portugal, the first bank in Portugal to do so. Additionally, the team consulted on the signing of a €900m loan agreement from the European Investment Fund in the first of its COSME Loan Guarantee Facility signature scheme as part of the European Union Commission’s Investment Plan for Europe.
