Auchan Retail España is the Spanish subsidiary of the French retail group Auchan, and operates in Spain through its subsidiaries under the Alcampo and Simply brands. As one of the largest retailers in Spain, with 357 stores, Grupo Auchan Retail España has opened 63 hypermarkets, 132 supermarkets, 45 associated establishments, 174 franchised establishments and 54 stations that generate a turnover of €4.5bn. The legal, tax and insurance department Spain assumes 80% of the work generated in the organisation within these areas, serving all areas of activity of the company in all legal areas of the law. ‘The legal department has enormous capabilities to face complex legal affairs in different fields such as real estate, M&A and distribution agreements. The head of this legal department, Rafael Sendin, with the support of Carolina Pastor, has given more than enough proof of professionalism’, says a nominator. The legal team is made up of six lawyers, two tax consultants, one insurance member and two administrative assistants.
