Global satellite operator Hispasat broadcasts over 1,000 television channels daily while providing wireless communication services to tens of millions of people. As the leading satellite operator serving Spanish speaking countries, and a major provider of services to the Americas, Europe and North Africa, the bulk of its legal work originates outside of Spain. General counsel Javier Folguera leads a team of in-house lawyers in Spain and Brazil, helping to oversee legal matters in Hispasat’s Mexican and Brazilian subsidiaries as well as at its branches in Colombia and Argentina. The team is praised by nominators for working seamlessly on a range of complex cross-border matters, from dealing with the legal issues related to building and launching satellites to negotiating international commercial agreements.
