What are the most significant cases or transactions you and your team have been involved in?

During the past two years, the most significant operations we have been involved in have been rooted around challenges brought by the pandemic, which directly impacted our activities. Although it has required lots of focus and effort from our team, we have still managed to expand the business and proceeded in acquiring distributors in China and Hong Kong; additionally, we have launched a new project, expanding Camper in the outdoor sector.

Even in the best-case scenario, Covid is likely to have far-reaching ramifications. How are you safeguarding the long-term health of the business?

The pandemic has taught us a lot – helping to improve our professional and personal skills. Constant changes in legislation and the introduction of new regulations required close scrutiny from the legal team and consistent communication with the business units to identify potential risks before they manifested and take action to enhance the company’s performance.

As we enter the next decade, what skills will a corporate legal team need to succeed in the modern in-house industry?

I believe that to succeed in the modern in-house industry, it is crucial to be flexible and able to think out of the box. It is essential for general counsel to be integrated with the business at a deep level to guarantee its growth.
