Rui Andrade has worked at Portuguese construction company Andrade Gutierrez for more than twenty years, a period over which he has established a highly commended legal function which oversees the activities of the organisation across 30 countries. Comprised of eight employees, his team has demonstrated a capacity to adapt to new changes and constantly reinvent itself to take into consideration the constantly changing business and regulatory environment.

In addition to implementing the many reforms necessary to forge such a well-functioning legal unit, Andrade has contributed immensely to the group’s international expansion, which has required extensive knowledge of the legal and market system. ‘Deeply in sync with the business, Andrade adds value beyond the legal sector and is an integral part of Andrade Gutierrez’s management,’ a nominator shares. Prior to his in-house legal career Andrade studied at Universidade Católica de Lisboa, where he graduated with a postgraduate qualification in public law.
