The individual with overall oversight of legal affairs for Santander worldwide, Jaime Pérez Renovales takes on myriad responsibilities on behalf of the Bank’s interests. He has held a number of senior positions over the course of his career, including deputy head of legal services at the Spanish National Securities Market (CNMV), cabinet director for the deputy vice president for Economic Affairs and Minister of the Economy for the Spanish government, general secretary and board secretary of Banco Español de Crédito, under-secretary for the presidency of the Spanish government and chairman of the Committee for Public Administration Reform (CORA). Whilst with Santander, he was previously deputy general secretary, board secretary and head of legal affairs at the group, giving him an unparalleled knowledge of the legal requirements at the company and the operation of the function.

A law and business administration graduate – perhaps the perfect combination for an individual looking to make it to the top of the legal business world – Pérez has also been a member of the company’s board since 2003.
