Ignacio Bilbao is a highly experienced legal manager with an excellent track record of overseeing real estate legal matters of some of the largest multinational retail groups in Spain. Having served for a number of years at the helm of the Spanish and Portuguese business of IKEA Centres (formerly IKEA Centre Group), a leading group that develops, owns and manages shopping centres and retail parks, Bilbao has had a transformative effect on the company by formulating a coherent legal strategy and successfully resolving pressing litigations across all areas.

Real estate law has been another area of excellence over the last three-and-a-half years for Bilbao, with particular milestones achieved in his work on striking land purchase agreements, negotiating complex property transactions and construction contracts, and overseeing planning and land zoning for landmark developments. Prior to his tenure at IKEA Centres, Bilbao served at Spanish retailer Verdecora – Cimodin (formerly Verdecora), initially as senior expansion and legal manager, rising to head of real estate, legal and development, partner and company manager. He started his legal career as a real estate lawyer at JRB Abogados in 1998.
