Elena Ciordia Corcuera joined Viscofan in 1995, progressing to gain responsibility for the entire legal department in January 2001 after the previous legal manager was appointed as CEO. She has kept her position ever since, overseeing a period during which Viscofan Group has experienced a considerable growth where over twenty companies were acquired or newly incorporated and all financial figures have experienced enormous growth, with net results multiplying by ten.

One of her achievements has been to get a 4,500 employee organisation located in 15 different countries to become aware of legal risks in their daily work. She takes pride in building a team that’s created educational and preventive actions for the business in a low legal risk environment. ‘We have reinforced this area with the aim at becoming leaders in starting multi-departmental procedures which may help Viscofan Group to prevent legal and other potential risks’, says Ciordia Corcuera. She is commended for being a leading figure in the exponential growth of the group, working on the aforementioned transactions which include the acquisition of Vector US, Vector Europe and Vector UK in 2016, as well as the acquisition of Supralon Group encompassing four companies in different countries in Europe in November 2017.
