As Director – General Counsel and Company Secretary of Hang Lung Group Limited and Hang Lung Properties Limited, Winnie oversees all legal and company secretarial affairs across Hong Kong and Mainland China. Leading a team of more than 45 lawyers and professionals, she provides strategic counsel on complex legal and regulatory issues, ensuring that governance excellence and operational integrity are embedded across the Group’s diverse businesses. Under her leadership, Hang Lung received the Award of Excellence in Corporate Governance from the Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies in 2021, affirming the Group’s steadfast commitment to transparency and accountability.

With more than 25 years of professional experience spanning Hong Kong, Mainland China, and international markets, Winnie brings a deep, practical understanding of Mainland regulatory dynamics and cross-border business operations. Her on-the-ground experience in the Mainland enables her to bridge legal, cultural, and commercial contexts with agility—a critical skill in supporting strategic growth and navigating regulatory complexity. A seasoned M&A and corporate transactions lawyer, Winnie is recognised for her ability to align business objectives with compliance integrity through sound judgement, negotiation excellence, and strategic foresight.

Before joining Hang Lung, she played a pivotal role in establishing AXA’s life insurance business in Malaysia and guiding its expansion in Hong Kong. In her early thirties, she became General Counsel of Hutchison Telecommunications, later serving as Senior Vice President and General Counsel at PCCW, and Vice President, Head of Corporate, at Walmart China—roles that strengthened her leadership presence in both Hong Kong and the Mainland.

Beyond her corporate achievements, Winnie actively contributes to public and community initiatives. She serves on the Law Society of Hong Kong’s Land Use Planning and Environmental Law Committee and on the General Committee of the Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies. Passionate about inclusion and education, she mentors emerging leaders through the Hong Kong Government’s Strive and Rise Programme and the Hang Lung Future Women Leaders Programme, and sits on the Hang Lung Scholarship and Development Donation for the Visually Impaired Panel, supporting visually impaired students from Ebenezer School in their pursuit of higher education and meaningful careers.
