Lily Lin, General Counsel of Zepp, is a senior legal executive with almost two decades of experience in the TMT sector and over 10 years of leadership experience as General Counsel and Head of Legal. Before joining Zepp, she previously held key legal positions at BYD and Tencent. Throughout her career, she has advised fast-growing technology businesses on intellectual property, commercial strategy, compliance, dispute resolution and international expansion.

Supporting the company’s continued international expansion, she led the management of approximately 20 cross-border intellectual property disputes, including high-profile litigation involving leading industry competitors, as well as defensive actions initiated by rivals. To ensure legal risks did not hinder business growth, she established a proactive litigation monitoring and risk forecasting framework, enabling informed market-entry decisions, preserving strategic enforcement and counterclaim options and significantly strengthening the company’s global IP resilience. Beyond managing litigation risks, she developed a proactive global IP enforcement and brand protection framework to combat infringement, copycat products and unfair competitive practices. Through coordinated legal actions across multiple jurisdictions, she safeguarded the company’s intellectual property assets, strengthened brand equity and protected the company’s market share.

Lily has played a critical role in transforming the legal function into a strategic business partner. By working closely with commercial and product teams, she and her legal team progressively enhanced the company’s compliance capabilities across key European markets, helping the business navigate increasingly complex regulatory requirements while supporting growth objectives. Under her leadership, legal and compliance processes were upgraded, resulting in stronger governance, more efficient decision-making and accelerated business expansion.

Recognising that sustainable legal value comes from capability building, she developed a tiered global network of external counsel across Europe, North America and APAC, enabling the company to deploy the right level of legal support for different business, compliance and litigation needs. This resource-allocation model optimised legal spend and ensured consistent legal support for the company’s expanding international operations. She also strengthened the legal team’s cross-border dispute management expertise and successfully introduced the new risk hedging tools, including overseas IP litigation insurance. Through effective resource allocation and external collaboration, she led the team in successfully overcoming the challenges of balancing the costs and uncertainties associated with international litigation.

Lily has also been instrumental in building an internationally integrated legal function, successfully incorporating European legal talent into the organisation and establishing effective cross-regional collaboration mechanisms.
